Solar panel cleaning

Professional Solar Panel Cleaning Near You

Pure-water cleaning that lifts the dirt, dust and bird mess sitting on your panels, so they can do the job they were installed for. For homes and commercial roofs across Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey.

Why solar panels lose performance

Solar array half dusty and dull, half freshly cleaned and shining

Anything that sits on the glass — dust, pollen, traffic film, lichen and especially bird droppings — blocks light from reaching the cells underneath. A dirty panel produces less than a clean one, and the dirtiest patches are where you lose the most.

What builds up on a panel

Bird mess is the biggest single culprit: it hardens, shades a patch of cells completely, and gets worse the longer it stays. Around it, a general film of dust and organic growth builds up season after season, and rain alone doesn't shift it.

Cleaning restores what you paid for

Regular cleaning keeps the array working as it was designed to, protects the seals and frames from corrosive droppings, and means you actually see the return on the panels you invested in.

Guide prices

Solar panel cleaning prices

Domestic solar cleaning is priced per panel: £6–£8 each, subject to a £55 minimum charge. Panels spread across two roofs, such as the house and a garage, sit at the top of the range. Your exact price is confirmed free of charge once we've seen the roof.

It usually works out cheapest to book solar cleaning alongside the other roofline work we're already doing, so you only pay for one visit.

  • Guide prices are for domestic properties with roof access from the ground or ladder
  • Quotations are always free of charge, with no obligation
  • Larger arrays, such as commercial rooftops, are quoted per day after viewing the site

How we clean solar panels

1. Assess the array

We check the number of panels, the roof height and how we'll reach them safely.

2. Pure-water cleaning

A soft-bristled brush on a telescopic pole, fed with pure water — no harsh chemicals, no abrasive pads.

3. Worked from the ground

We clean from the ground wherever we can, and we don't walk on the panels.

4. Rinsed and finished

Panels are rinsed so they dry without streaks, and the area below is left tidy.

Why it's worth maintaining

Better output

Light reaches the cells again instead of being blocked by a layer of dust, pollen and bird mess.

Protects your investment

Corrosive bird droppings and settled grime are cleared before they can mark the glass, frames and seals.

One visit, whole roofline

Book solar cleaning alongside gutters or fascias and you only pay for one visit, one set of access.

Solar panel cleaning questions

Can I receive a quotation from photographs?

Often, yes. Photos of the roof, gutters and the property help us give an accurate quote; for larger or complex jobs we may still need a site visit.

Why do solar panels need cleaning?

Dust, pollen, bird droppings and general grime sit on the glass and block light from reaching the cells. Cleaning removes that layer so the panels can perform as they were designed to.

Domestic solar panel cleaning is £6–£8 per panel, subject to a £55 minimum charge. Panels spread over two roofs, such as the house and a garage, sit at the top of the range. Larger commercial arrays are quoted per day after viewing the site.

How do you clean solar panels?

With pure water and a soft-bristled brush on a telescopic pole, working from the ground wherever we can. We don't use harsh chemicals or abrasive pads, and we don't walk on the panels.

Which areas do you cover?

Relevant areas of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey, subject to the job and access. Send us your postcode and we will confirm.
